Well, this stinks! As social distancing orders trickle into wedding season, we know that there is a lot to think about and that the lack of answers at this time is frustrating.

 

Step one of throwing uncertainty out the window is having a plan. 

We are here to work with you to find the right solution for you! 

In the case that you are considering rescheduling your wedding, we have provided our 2020 and 2021 Calendar to make it easier to see when we are available.

If you are interested in keeping your date with an adapted service, we have solutions for you as well!

You deserve to have your dream wedding, whether it is on the date you originally scheduled or another day - we promise it will still be epic. 

If you are thinking about postponing your date, step 1 is to contacting your venue to find what dates they have available.

Contact your Venue

You have worked so hard to put together your dream team, and your vendors are excited to make your wedding day amazing. Let your vendors know what dates you are considering. Ideally, everyone is available on one of your new dates.

Keep in mind, all vendors have different rescheduling or cancellation policies.

Contact your Vendors

Once you have determined a new date with your vendors, let your guests know! 

If you are keeping the new date as a "soft hold" or contingency plan, let your guests know in your save the dates OR invitations with an insert directing them to where they can find the latest updates.

Rescheduling Policies

 

  • Please use the calendar above to schedule your wedding when we are available. 

  • If you choose to reschedule your wedding due to Covid-19, we are happy to transfer all payments to your new date for no additional fee. 

  • If we are not available for your new date, we will hire a qualified photographer to represent Brass Tacks Photography. All pre-wedding preparation and post-wedding editing and services will still be conducted by Brass Tacks Photography. 

  • You can reserve a "Soft Hold" date. These dates are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. If someone else would like to schedule wedding on a date that is already reserved as a "Soft Hold" the couple holding the reservation will be notified immediately and will have 72 hours to commit to the date or the date will be released to the new inquiry. 

  • If you reschedule for a date that we are unavailable and choose to hire another photographer on your own. You are welcome to apply your non-refundable deposit toward a different photo session (micro-wedding, elopement, or portrait session).

What do you think we should do?


Due to Covid-19, Wedding etiquette as we knew it before 2020 is out the window. I think you should do whatever you want. We are here to find a solution that works for you. But first, review all of your vendor contracts and make sure you are informed of your options before finalizing your plans. Does the gathering limit include vendors?


Yes! For gatherings less than 50 people I am the only photographer who will be representing Brass Tacks Photography. For weddings over 80 people, my team ranges from 1-3 people (including me) based on your service selection.




Do you require a deposit?


Yes, I require a $500 non-refundable deposit upon signing your contract. If you need to reschedule, all payments will be applied to your new date with no additional fee. If you choose to cancel the contract entirely, you can apply this deposit toward a different Brass Tacks Photography Service. ^ This accomodation only applies to couples changing their wedding plans amid the Covid-19 crisis.




Which Vendors should we contact first?


You should inform ALL of your vendors as soon as possible, but here is the order I would consider. 1. Your venue and Planner (if you have one) 2. All vendors that are a single person service (photography, videographer, musician) 3. Team vendors or those known to service multiple events in one day.




When should we make a decision?


I believe that having a plan as soon as possible will put your mind at ease. Utilize "soft holds" whenever possible with your vendors in order to accomplish the new vision you have for your wedding services. This allows you to keep your original wedding date, and create a back-up plan incase you decide to change your plans. Keep close watch your state's social distancing guidelines and policies. Industry advice is to make a decision 8-6 weeks before your date. Before waiting that long, review all of your contracts with your vendors to ensure that they allow this timeline.




What happens if we reschedule to a date that is already unavailable?


You have two options: Option 1: If we are not available for your new date, we will hire a qualified photographer to represent Brass Tacks Photography. All pre-wedding preparation and post-wedding editing and services will still be conducted by Brass Tacks Photography. Option 2: If you reschedule for a date that we are unavailable and choose to hire another photographer on your own. You are welcome to apply your non-refundable deposit toward a different photo session (micro-wedding, elopement, or portrait session).
